Cold weather causes havoc on the hair and skin which leads to it becoming dry and unhealthy. There are so many different products on the market which can be used at your convenience. Here are some of our fall favorites that you can try incorporating into your beauty routine. These tips are all super easy to do and don’t require much effort.

Beauty tip #1 -Dry brushing for better skin

In case you’re not sure what a dry brush is, it’s a brush that bristles are made from vegetables. Dry brushing is done on dry skin and doesn’t involve wetting the skin. The daily benefits of dry brushing include:

  • Improving circulation
  • Reducing cellulite
  • Eliminating toxins
  • Improves cell regeneration
  • Great for lymphatic drainage

Essentially, brushing is done in upward strokes, towards the heart. Try doing this beauty tip once a day for firmer and smoother skin.

Beauty tip #2- Hair treatment


If you notice that your scalp is dry and your hair is brittle, then try out this top secret hair treatment. It’s a great way to moisturize and nourish the hair while deeply conditioning it. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Coconut oil
  • Olive oil
  • Argan oil

Mix a tablespoon of each of these oils together and apply it to your hair. Leave in overnight and rinse with warm water and shampoo.

*Just remember to wear an old t-shirt and cover your pillow with an old towel to prevent any oil from messing.

Beauty tip #3- Get rid of dry skin

During winter days the skin becomes dry and it can be quite a challenge to moisturize it, no matter how much of lotion you apply. A quick and easy tip to do is to apply some olive oil and Vaseline to the hands/ feet. Thereafter, close it with plastic wrap to lock in moisture.

Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Mix equal parts of olive oil and Vaseline together
  2. Apply it to your hands/ feet
  3. Wrap your hands securely with plastic so that it is securely closed with no air entering. (You can choose to either wrap it in cling wrap or a plastic packet).
  4. Leave on for an hour and remove.

This tip is great to do once a week and it leaves you with soft skin.

Beauty tip #4 – Drink more water and less caffeinated drinks

During the colder season, many people don’t drink as much water as they’re supposed to. Instead, water is substituted with coffee, hot chocolate, and café lattes.


Your body needs water in order to properly function. If you find it challenging to get in the required amount of water then try this genius tip of ours. Every time you think of having a hot caffeine beverage, swop it for boiled water with a wedge of lemon. Not only will this help you get in some water, but you will also be protecting your immune system.

Beauty tip #5 – Jojoba oil or hair and skin

Jojoba oil is one of the most popular Native American beauty secrets. It can be used to get shinier hair and softer, more youthful skin. There are so many different ways to use jojoba oil, but we’re obsessed with bathing in jojoba oil. Apply a couple of drops of organic jojoba oil to your bath and soak in for as long as you like. This will leave you with amazing hair and skin.

Beauty tip #6 – Get softer feet

Many men and women often have cracked heels and find it quite difficult to treat, especially in fall and winter. A quick fix to this problem is to mix some Vaseline along with some Vicks vapor rub and massage it into the feet. Cover the feet with socks -this should be done before going to bed.

Beauty tip #7 – Rest up


Getting enough rest is something that everyone needs. Not only is it essential to your health, but it’s vital for your skin. Your body needs to get 7-9 hours of sleep every night in order to properly function. Lack of sleep can cause bad skin and poor health issues.
