The reason banana peels work so well to combat acne and pimples is because they contain lutein which is an antioxidant. The job of an antioxidant is simple, it helps treat infections and inflammatory. The process of using a banana peel on pimples is simple and the results are great.

Take a banana peel and gently rub the insides of the peel on the targeted areas in a circular motion for a couple of minutes. You will notice the peel changing to a dark color and when it does you can stop rubbing it onto your skin. Allow the peel remnants to stay on your skin for as long as possible and then use warm water to rinse off. This procedure can be done around 4 times a day.

*Place the banana peel in the fridge 15 minutes before use to help soothe and cool your skin.

Even if you’re one of the cleanest people in the world there is a slight chance that your hands could carry some nasty germs and bacteria. For this reason, you should avoid touching your skin at all costs (unless you have just washed your hands) especially when you have a few zits. Touching a pimple can easily lead to spreading it to other areas on your face, which could turn into a nightmare! Take extra precaution that your hands are always clean when touching your face.

If there was a magic ingredient for almost any skin problems, it would be ice! Rightfully so, ice is the perfect remedy to use on wrinkles, fine lines, dry skin and even acne prone skin. The reason it works so well is because of its frozen properties which assist in reducing swelling/ inflammation and increasing blood circulation when applied to the skin.

*Gently glide an ice cube over the pimple every couple of hours for best results.

This remedy has probably been around for decades but the fact of the matter is that it works! Toothpaste contains drying agents such as alcohol and baking soda which help dry out pimples quickly and decrease the size at the same time. Apply a small amount of toothpaste to the zit before going to bed and by morning the pimple should have improved.

*Toothpaste isn’t a long-term fix for acne and it shouldn’t be used on a daily basis.

If there was an ingredient that had multiple health benefits, it would be raw honey. Honey is known for its excellent anti-bacterial properties and used across the globe to treat different health issues. One such common problem it helps with is acne as it helps draw out excess fluid from pimples and it reduces inflammation.

*Make sure to only purchase raw, organic honey as processed honey will not have any effect.
